The Commonwealth of Zeusland Treasury has declared today that the final budget figures have revealed a budget underspend of $200,000. Because the Budget (Tax Appropriation) Bill 2012 has already been passed by the parliament, the government must spend all monies it promised to before the deadline of November 15, otherwise the government will be in breach of the Budget Bill and Her Excellency, Dame Julie, may have to intervene and take executive control of the country.
Government departments are working feverishly to find programs to fund across the country, so that the money is committed before next Friday. Unfortunately, all final expenditure must be approved by parliament, so it is anyones guess which projects will get the 5 votes needed to get passed.
