Position Statement for the role of Senior Policy Advisor

  • The Senior Policy Advisor co-ordinates all the other advisors and makes sure that they are all working hard in the best interests of the Member.
  • The Senior Policy Advisor understands all the background material to the issues the Member is dealing with and makes suggestions to the Member about how to vote.
  • The Senior Policy Advisor is the person that the Member relies on most heavily. They need to be honest and give the Member frank advice about the future of any laws coming before the parliament.
